Fitness is a very personal and practical state of being.
Simple definition now define fitness in your terms. Just apply your definition to your life.
As a dad and a Personal Trainer, Boot Camp Instructor my fitness has to allow me to meet the physical and mental demands of the choices I make. I prepare for work by learning what my clients need to achieve their goals.
No limitations when planning for classes or private sessions other than time and duration of the training relationship.
As a dad I look forward to the challenges each of my children ask of me. I enjoy the activities (all of them)
I share with them from the 11 month old to the 18 year old. Of course the youngest requires slightly more patience and higher pain tolerance. She does hit hard, and does a lot of squats and leg presses on my abs.
The eldest requires more understanding and listening skills, mostly on my part not hers, but I would not trade our time together. My 14 year old son offers more physically derived skills, I can still do more push ups then him. My jump shot is better but he skates a lot better than I do. I enjoy being mentally and physically fit enough for my life and my choices. No limitations except time, I wish I had more definitions but my favorite is my desire to help others define their own fitness. What makes you feel fit ? You're invited to share your comments here.
