Step 1

I've been asked since 1975 the same question or a variation of it. How do I get fit, lose weight, gain muscle? What is the quickest way ? I've answered the question in a variety of ways. Burn more calories than you consume. How is usually the next question ? Answer:

  1. Identify who you are, by metabolic type. Modify your dietary intake to maximize your metabolic type.
  2. Start your fitness program with a thorough Fitness Evaluation conducted by a Certified Personal Trainer or an Exercise Physiologist. You can probably have it done at your gym.
  3. Search online for educational sites related to preventive health, nutrition and exercise.
  4. Start an Journal, name it and embrace it.
  5. Find some one to share your fitness journey with.
  6. Find a good doctor preferably homeopathic or holistic , they work to identify health issues resolving the problem not the symptoms.
  7. Remember the child in you who wasn't afraid to fail at what they wanted to do and be that child again, start here.
